The Frederick Soil Conservation District is now accepting applications for the GEORGE A NICHOLSON, SR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

Deserving students who are interested in pursuing an education toward a career related to renewable natural resources (RNR), land use, and/or conservation. Academic achievement and participation in extra/intra curricular activities warrant consideration. Scholarships will also be considered for other agricultural related educational experiences. The Education Committee will decide on the appropriateness of any requests.
Priority will be given to applicants pursuing an education (university, four-year college, community college or vocational technical institute) in conservation or RNR. Other agriculture related majors of study will be evaluated on the merits of the application. Applicant must be resident of Frederick County.
Applicants must submit to the Board of Supervisors the following:
- A scholarship application available from the Soil Conservation District Office.
- Two letters of recommendation to be submitted with the application.
- Highschool transcripts to be submitted with the application.
Maximum grant in aid is four years for any one individual.
Applicants must reapply each year.
The recipient may qualify for consideration in subsequent years only upon submission of a transcript of grades.
Selection of scholarship recipient by the Board of Supervisors is final.
The recipient is encouraged to voluntarily contribute to the scholarship fund upon completion of the program of studies.
Scholarship of up to $1000 may be made each year.
Applications must be received on or before April 15, 2022.
